Similar to Qi'a and other health store seed based cereal mixes, this is a tasty mix and consists of three seeds:

  1. 1 part buckwheat groats
  2. 1 part chia seed
  3. 1.5 parts shelled hemp seed

Mix in when ready to eat:

  1. cinnamon (definitely!)

and mix in your pick of

  1. dried cranberries
  2. raisins
  3. any dried fruit such as apples chopped up
  4. frozen berries

Preparation ideas:

  1. cover with almond milk and allow to sit for 5 minutes before warming up in the microwave
  2. on top of greek yogurt
  3. mix into a glass of keefur, rest in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to allow the seeds to swell up

Nutrition compared to cold cereal? No sugar, high fiber, no sodium, protein, and alpha-linolenic acid omega-3 fat. Of course: gluten free as well.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
