DDV Notes on PmWiki
Advantages of PmWiki
- easy installation
- data is stored in flat files, no need to administer a database
- security features provide capability of controling user update and administrator update access. Note that these require setting directory permissions in addition to configuration file changes
- a wiki is about process, note the history of changes to a page. In terms of getting to a final presentation and a PowerPoint digression ... See Ian Parker, Absolute Powerpoint: "'Powerpoint gives you the outcome, but it removes the process.'" Also check out Edward Tufte - Cognitive Style of Powerpoint
- skins make changing the look fairly simple
