Closing down the wiki

  1. Started this in 2005 which seems like a long time ago.
  2. I've used Evernote periodically over the same time period. And OneNote off and on as well.
  3. I'm settling on OneNote as a decent tool for capturing my notes. Storing in the cloud, syncing between computers / devices, and easy backups. Web clipper for OneNote is functional and easy to use.
  4. I'll still end up with a Google site for this domain name. But I'm in the process of archiving this content
    1. Simple copy via FTP
    2. capture with HTTrack website copier for an archive on a local harddrive with clickable links. html files should be searchable
    3. Maybe a couple of screen shots and PDF documents
  5. Google Sheets have wonderful functionality that is easy and useful.
  6. Eliminates the need to update the PmWiki application, the cookbook recipes, and it really isn't worth hosting fees of $100 per year.
  7. for a few years Google ads paid the hosting fees, but that hasn't happened for the last 3 years at least. Time to move on.
  8. Https isn't exactly working with this site setup and it isn't worth the effort.
  9. mobile skins are working just fine, however.
